Attempted Murder Suspect Stole Car From PA Driveway, Troopers Say (Updated)

A man accused of attempted murder in Delaware County stole a car out of a Berks County driveway early Tuesday morning, Jan. 2, state police say.

Troopers found an abandoned GMC in Weisenberg Township, Lehigh County around 4:30 a.m., they wrote in a release. 

The last known driver of the car was 29-year-old Umar Kimel Presbery, who was wanted by Tinicum Township police for attempted homicide and assault, authorities said. 

An hour later and four miles away, a Greenwich Township resident reported that his Subaru was missing from his driveway, according to troopers. 

Investigators said Presbery dumped the GMC and then fled the area in the Subaru. 

Update: Presbery and another man were found in the stolen Subaru in Harrisburg around 4 p.m. on Tuesday, state police said in an update. He was taken to the Dauphin County Jail, they added. Click here to read our follow report with his new charges.
